Just noticed on the final instructions that speed seems to be a big part of it.
I only have one ico unit & don’t have a speedo fitted to the bike. I know the ico has a speedo on it BUT can it be used at the same time as monitoring the distance or is that a bad idea?
Should I be buying myself a cheap speedo before the weekend to plonk on my tower?02/03/2015 at 7:41 pm #64610
you can switch from one mode to another !!!its not a major part of it its an important part of it02/03/2015 at 8:10 pm #64613
Wouldn’t I need to be monitoring distance at the same time as speed? What would you do moly? I could fit a cheap push bike speedo.02/03/2015 at 8:37 pm #64614
aaaahhhhh not really mate you know that its is say 700mts at say 20mph ?????
its not to difficult to estimate the distance then get back on it ,you can check both easily02/03/2015 at 9:13 pm #64618
Speed zones are a major part of rallies abroad. They are used as safety features so we have tried to emulate this in the UK.
If you are starting out on the raodbook events journey then the speed restrictions aren’t a big thing – you will just get the penalties.
If you want to win then it is vital you minimise the penalties.
The best thing about this is that we are getting practice the skills used in International rallies right here in the UK – so when and if we do an international rally we know the ropes and can have a good ride.
