Experience riding through the remote wilderness of Kielder Forest at night!

Choose from two classes;

– Adventure Rally Open Class (no restrition on bike)

– Adventure Rally Big Bike Class (Multi Cylinders)

Ride three stages (Saturday day, Saturday night, Sunday day), for the rally experience of a lifetime!

The Dark Skies Rally Kielder is an Adventure Rally taking place over two days with a night stage in the middle. Depending on the class you enter will depend on what bike you’re on an who you want to compete against.

Adventure Rally Open Class
No restriciton on bike.
Adventure Rally Big Bike Class
Twin Cylinders only.

Saturday Course – 10am – 4pm & 6pm – 9pm – Night Stage
Sunday Course – 10am – 4pm

RallyMoto and Forestry England have worked together to create this special motorcycle event.

Safety first
All riders will be tracked using both RallyMoto’s digital app and hard wired trackers as a tracking and scoring system, firstly for safety, and secondly, for accuracy of navigation and adherence to speed limits on the roadbook.

Riders on a paper roadbook can download the app for free and use in ‘rally computer’ mode.

Navigation of the course will be 100% roadbook with set places for checkpoints and scheduled breaks.

ACCOMMODATION

The accommodation will be the Boe Rigg Campsite, near Bellingham. Breakfasts and evening meals will be available from the campsite.

PLEASE NOTE: The Boe Rigg Campsite has been reserved for Dark Skies Rally riders and crew.

FOOD AND DRINK

Riders will have to let us know their food requirements in advance on the entry form, as we need to let the campsite know expected numbers. All food will be availabe at Boe Rigg and is paid on the day.

Meals available to purchase are:
FRIDAY EVENING MEAL – £15.00
SATURDAY BREAKFAST: BACON / SAUSAGE BAP AND TEA/COFFEE – £6.00
SUNDAY BREAKFAST: BACON / SAUSAGE BAP AND TEA/COFFEE – £6.00

Food and Drink is available on the FRIDAY evening at Boe Rigg.

AWARDS



Gold, silver and bronze medals will be awarded to the top 5 riders in each class.

Results will be generated at the end of each day automatically so riders can receive their awards as they finish.

RIDERS USING PAPER ROADBOOKS WILL BE REQUIRED TO HAVE THE RALLYMOTO APP RUNNING IN “RALLY COMPUTER” MODE FOR TRACKING AND SCORING.

HOW THE SCORING WORKS



Riders will be scored according to accuracy of navigation and adherence to speed zones. To avoid penalty points riders must hit all waypoints along the course and not go over the stated speed limits.

The roadbooks in both classes will be the same for 2026.

Bikes and Tyres

The “500” series of event have been specifically designed for the bigger adventure bikes and the Dark Skies Rally course has been created with this in mind. The course 100% suitable for dual sport tyres. The organisation team will have ridden all the course prior to the event to check its suitability.

Fuel and Range

The Dark Skies Rally is in a remote part of the UK and the bikes taking part will need a range of 160km (100 miles) on a single tank of fuel. Most of the big adventure bikes are capable of this. All fuel stops will be at commercial filling stations and marked on the roadbook.
