The KIELDER 500

One of the most anticipated Adventure Rallies of the year! Join us as we head to our favourite forest in the UK for endless off-road riding, jaw dropping scenery, and big bike friendly forestry trails.
For 2026 we will be running two classes, an “Rally Class” for bikes of any size and an “Adventure Rally Class” for twin/multi cylinder bikes only. Test your navigation against riders on similar sized bikes.
Get ready for two days of roadbook navigation through the UK’s best adventure riding wilderness.
With a high percentage of off-road and trail riding, which is 100% suited to the “big” adventure bikes, you will be able to ride in areas of Kielder and Kershope forestry that are really off the beaten track and only authorised for motorcycle use for the Kielder 500.
It is a remote area and just what your adventure bike was made for.
The Kielder 500 is an Adventure Rally taking place over two days in the heart of Kielder Forest. Depending on the class you enter will depend on what bike you’re on an who you want to compete against.

RallyMoto and Forestry England have worked together to create this special motorcycle event.
SAFETY FIRST
All riders will be tracked using RallyMoto’s digital app as a tracking and scoring system, firstly for safety, and secondly, for accuracy of navigation and adherence to speed limits on the roadbook.
Riders on a paper roadbook can download the app for free and use in ‘rally computer’ mode.
Navigation of the course will be 100% roadbook with set places for checkpoints and scheduled breaks. The roadbook will be written in a more rally orientated style.
Entry Fee: £225.00 (Early Bird £210.00)
Includes: Two days roadbooks, ACU Event Licence, dual GPS tracking and safety tracking, support/medical/recovery on course, results.

Location:
For 2026, the Kielder 500 will be based out of the Kielder Castle, in Kielder village, NE48 1ER. This location provides direct access into the Kielder Forest and is close to the beautiful Kielder Water.
ACCOMMODATION
Accommodation will be the Kielder Village Campsite, in the heart of the forest, adjacent to the main Bivouac at Kielder Castle. NE48 IEJ
PLEASE NOTE: The Kielder Campsite has been reserved for Kielder 500 riders and crew.
ALL CAMPING IS BOOKED DIRECTLY WITH THE KIELDER CAMPSITE:

FOOD AND DRINK
Riders will have to purchase their food request in advance and receive a voucher for the food. All food will be served at the Kielder Tavern which is adjacent to the camp site.
Meals available to purchase are:
SATURDAY BREAKFAST: BACON / SAUSAGE BAP AND TEA/COFFEE – £9.50
SUNDAY BREAKFAST: BACON / SAUSAGE BAP AND TEA/COFFEE – £9.50
SATURDAY EVENING MEAL – £13.50
Booking for meals will be sent out nearer to the event.
Food and Drink is available on the FRIDAY evening at the Kielder Tavern.
PACKED LUNCHES – Order as part of your booking to avoid the wait at the fuel stop for food on Saturday and Sunday.
HOW TO ENTER
- Once entries are open, click ‘enter here’ and fill out the form provided. Here you will be able to select your accommodation options, choose which format of roadbook you’ll be using (paper or digital), and select which class you will be entering in (Rally or Adventure).
- Once you have filled out the form and paid your entry, your place has been secured in the event.
- PLEASE BE PATIENT in the lead up to the event. Your final instructions will be sent out via an email in the week leading up to the event. These will give you the final details including total distances, timings, app download instructions etc etc.

Both classes will use the same roadbook and scoring.

Bikes and Tyres
The “500” series of event have been specifically designed for the bigger adventure bikes and the Kielder 500 course has been created with this in mind. The course 100% suitable for dual sport tyres. The organisation team will have ridden all the course prior to the event to check its suitability.
Fuel and Range
The Kielder 500 is in a remote part of the UK and the bikes taking part will need a range of 160km (100 miles) on a single tank of fuel. Most of the big adventure bikes are capable of this. All fuel stops will be at commercial filling stations and marked on the roadbook.
DIGITAL ROADBOOKS
For the digital roadbook, you will need to ensure you have a suitable device mounted to your bars (Android tablet or large phone). For more info click here.
There are no HIRE DIGITAL ROADBOOKS AVAILABLE FOR THIS EVENT.

Will my new bike be OK as I don’t want to damage it?
We would consider the tracks and back roads we use to be perfect for the “Big” adventure bikes that are able to cover distance and handle light off road. The courses are designed for minimal damage to your bike. Of course we cannot guarantee everything as it is a bit of an adventure after all. We will be sure to notify you if a particular route is especially challenging and if you would be better off on off road biased tyres.
Is my bike suitable?
Our routes are tailored for adventure bikes, as often there are long distances covered and the off road sections aren’t too technical. Some of our more ‘extreme’ events can be ridden on smaller enduro and trail bikes, but overall our aim is to provide riders of big bikes a places to ride and experience what their adventure bikes are really capable of and actually made for! There are many places available for enduro riders in the UK, however routes suitable for taking big bikes off road are less common, hence why we aim to provide for this realm of riders.
Do I need to bring fuel?
No. Definitely not, the route passes commercial fuel stations and you should refuel here. Maximum distance between fuel stops is 80-100 km (50 – 60 miles). Just make sure you are fully fuelled at the start.
Do I need my own roadbook equipment?
Yes, for most events you will need your own digital or paper roadbook equipment.
On some specific events, RallyMoto can provide a roadbook equipment but you need to check with each event.
Do I need an accurate trip?
Yes, at this adventure level of riding we use an app on a Smart phone which is very good. Details can be found here.
