About Rallymoto

A motorcycle club that is focused on taking adventure & rallying forwards in the UK.

The club was started in 2011 as a way to promote motorcycle rallying in the UK and provide a platform for like minded riders. We are affiliated to the ACU and the club is a registered events promoter.

RallyMoto is at the forefront of promoting roadbook navigational events and rallies both in the UK. The club ran the first “proper” roadbook rally, Pikes Peak for 26 years in the UK, with full GPS tracking for competitors and a speed penalty system.

RallyMoto runs roadbook training and practice days in the UK, affectionately called “Roadbook Capers” to help grow and support the sport. Any member can take part in these one day “fun” events and learn about roadbook nagivation in a friendly and sociable environment.

The RallyMoto Cup

The UK’s only Roadbook Rally Series, consisting of our three major UK based Adventure Rallies; the Kielder 500, the Wales 500, and the Dark Skies Rally (Kielder).

Riders who enter into Rally Class in all three events have their scores tallied onto an overall leaderboard.  The rider who scores the least number of penalty points across all three events takes home the trophy.

The ‘Rally Class’ roadbooks include timed special stages, trickier navigation such as CAP only sections, as well as at times more technical terrain.

‘Adventure Class’ is also available at these events, although these avoid the more technical terrain and don’t include special timed stages.  Riders in Adventure Class are aiming for the ‘Zero Hero’ award at each event, which is achieved by scoring zero penalty points for overspeeding or missing waypoints.

All the Adventure Rallies are 100% roadbook navigation events that are over a two day course of 500km’s or more.

A true adventure for adventure bike riders and lovers of roadbook.

FAQ's

If any riders have any questions please email [email protected] or call 0770 392 4448.

Will my new bike be OK as I don’t want to damage it?

We would consider the tracks and back roads we use to be perfect for the “Big” adventure bikes that are able to cover distance and handle light off road. The courses are designed for minimal damage to your bike. Of course we cannot guarantee everything as it is a bit of an adventure after all.  We will be sure to notify you if a particular route is especially challenging and if you would be better off on off road biased tyres.

Is my bike suitable?

Our routes are tailored for adventure bikes, as often there are long distances covered and the off road sections aren't too technical.  Some of our more 'extreme' events can be ridden on smaller enduro and trail bikes, but overall our aim is to provide riders of big bikes a places to ride and experience what their adventure bikes are really capable of and actually made for!  There are many places available for enduro riders in the UK, however routes suitable for taking big bikes off road are less common, hence why we aim to provide for this realm of riders.

Do I need to bring fuel?

No. Definitely not, the route passes commercial fuel stations and you should refuel here. Maximum distance between fuel stops is 80-100 km (50 – 60 miles). Just make sure you are fully fuelled at the start.

Do I need my own roadbook equipment?

No, RallyMoto provide an “adventure roadbook holder” to each rider. This has to returned after the event.

Do I need an accurate trip?

Yes, at this adventure level of riding we use an app on a Smart phone which is very good and it attached to the supplied roadbook holder.
