Adventure Spec KIELDER 500

25th & 26th March 2023

Our favourite forest for adventure rallying with more off-road riding and a whole new adventure planned for 2023. The AS Kielder 500 is also the first of the “RallyMoto Cup” events for 2023.

Get ready for two days of roadbook navigation through the UK’s best adventure riding wilderness.

With a high percentage of off-road and trail riding, which is 100% suited to the “big” adventure bikes, you will be able to ride in areas of Kielder and Kershope forestry that are really off the beaten track and only authorised for motorcycle use for the AS Kielder 500.

It is a remote area and just what your adventure bike was made for.

The event is a two day roadbook navigation event for “Adventure Style” motorcycles over 140kg. The roadbook is has been especially created for the event and is the same format and style as the “Adventure Cannonball” rideouts.

Riders will be expected to navigate the course using the roadbook. Each day comprises of a course which is in excess of 250km with a large percentage of the going being hard base gravel tracks and fire roads within the forests.

A level of self sufficiency is required as this is a remote part of the UK. Riders will be expected to carry tools and spares along with water and food for the day. There will be places for fuel and food marked on the roadbook for fuel and refreshments.

Entry Fee:

ENTRIES CLOSED ADVENTURE CLASS
Includes: Event insurance, roadbook holder hire, two days roadbooks, full GPS tracking and support/recovery on course, results, breakfast (Saturday & Sunday) and evening meal Saturday.

Camping is also to be booked and paid, directly, with Brown Rigg and is NOT included in the entry fee for 2023. Food for Friday evening can also be booked here as well.

A bar will be available on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening at the venue.

AWARDS

RALLY CLASS riders have the option to enter the ‘RallyMoto Cup’, which includes the Wales 500 and the Dark Skies Rally.  Scores from all three events will be entered onto a leaderboard and the 1st, 2nd and 3rd places announced after October 2023.

ADVENTURE CLASS riders who score zero points at an event will be given a ‘Zero Hero’ award. (One per annum)

Bikes and Tyres

The “500” series of event have been specifically designed for the bigger adventure bikes and the Kielder 500 course has been created with this in mind. The course 100% suitable for dual sport tyres. The organisation team will have ridden all the course prior to the event to check its suitability.

Fuel and Range

The Kielder 500 is in a remote part of the UK and the bikes taking part will need a range of 160km (100 miles) on a single tank of fuel. Most of the big adventure bikes are capable of this. All fuel stops will be at commercial filling stations and marked on the roadbook.

Roadbook Holders

These will be available to hire from RallyMoto – please request this on your entry form.
