In light of the current COVID-19 outbreak, Rallymoto Ltd have taken the difficult decision to postpone the AS Kielder 500 on 28th/29th March.

Following discussions with the Forestry Commission and working with the venue owners at Brown Rigg, the event will now run on 22nd/23rd August 2020.

The Government has not advised event organisers to cancel at this stage but you will be aware of the news today that the government is considering imposing a ban on public events, possibly next week. As this could potentially be only a matter of days before the AS Kielder 500 this would of course cause much more disruption than taking the decision now.

It has also become clear that the impact of COVID-19 on the staff of our Medical support company, Extreme Medics Ltd was also a possible problem, due to many of them also working in front line services with the NHS and having to self-isolate following contact with confirmed cases of COVID-19. There were doubts that we would have enough personnel to cover the Kielder 500 from a medical point of view.

As it is not possible for us to go ahead without sufficient medical cover and in light of the Forestry Commission offering the August date as an alternative, it was decided that postponement was the socially responsible thing to do in the circumstances.

All entries for March will automatically transfer to the August event and we have transferred our booking with Brown Rigg Lodges to the new dates. We appreciate many of you will have booked accommodation and hope you will be able to transfer those bookings.
We sincerely apologise for any disruption this decision causes and hope to see you in August.

At this stage, the AS Wales 500 in May is still scheduled to go ahead but we will be monitoring the situation over the coming weeks.
