ESTRELA 2000 PORTUGUESE ADVENTURE RALLY

How does it work?

This is an Adventure Rally for “big adventure bikes” that can do big mileages. The concept of the event is to meet at a hotel near to Santander, then each day we have a briefing meeting, hand out the roadbooks, ride all day on tracks, back roads and easy off road and meet at the next hotel and have an evening meal together as we consider the scores for the day – then repeat.

The event will be run on an Adventure Rally basis, with a number of stages each day where your navigation, adherence to speed limits will all be monitored by the RallyMoto Precision GPS Tracking system.

It is a big adventure, each roadbook shows the route you have to navigate along with the stages, rest stops, cafes, fuel stations, lunch stops and photo opportunities.

We will also track you for safety and we will have support vehicles shadowing you along the route.

Our Estrela 2000 adventure starts at a hotel near Santander and immediately heads into the Spanish Picos Mountains to arrive just in time for dinner, the days scores and the briefing for the next days riding on roadbook.

We take in the tracks and lanes in Northern Portugal and head down to the Duoro Valley – a spectacular route through the gorges and vineyards, along rivers and tributaries. We use luxury, off the beaten track hotels which have exquisite cuisine and fantastic wines.

All our lunch stops are preplanned and we regroup each day for lunch.

We head into the Estrela National Park and to the highest peaks in Portugal and through and head to our central Portugal retreat in Pedrogao.

From the base in central Portugal we have a really big mileage day in the remote central part of Portugal, one of our favourite regions, we return to the same luxury hotel in the evening.

The next day sees us heading to North Portugal through the back roads and tracks towards the border and our final destination.  Finally we board the ferry and head home.

This really is a big Adventure Rally experience – it is what your adventure bike was made for.
