I’m assuming this is not going to be happening.
Any other dates coming up soon for RB training?19/04/2018 at 1:27 pm #73585
The “Wales 500” can be a excellent Roadbook Training…

I was planning to do that one but unfortunately have a wedding on the Saturday and a birthday party on the Sunday.
More reason for me wanting to do another.19/04/2018 at 2:11 pm #73587
I’ve got a few more in the planning stage, just need to agree some dates with Burt but might not be until June as i’m in Italy for two weeks in May then have to head off to the Wales 500 (as Clerk of the Course) the afternoon I fly back in on May 25th.
Currently on my list to complete:
Northamptonshire Caper (most probably the next one starting from Silverstone)
Essex Caper (from Bishops Stortford)
Thetford Forest Caper (from Barton Mills)
South Downs Caper (from Denmead)
Hertordshire Caper Part 2 (KTM Centre)
Cambridgeshire Caper Part 2 (Torque Racing)
Most of them are plotted out, i just need to get out and ride them to do the final checking
Also in the (very early) planning phase are:
Peak District Caper (trying to come up with a decemnt route avoiding as many gates as possible)
Lake District Caper (South Lakes/Furness Penisula)
The Hertfordshire Grand Tour = every green lane through route in Hertordshire (about 110) starting near Tring in the West 200-250Km then overnight camp at Torque Racing followed by 220Km back to the start. Potentially with a van transfer for your camping gear so no need to carry luggage.
Just need to find a way to give up the day job!

Shall I aim for another for the end of June?
This weekend I was in Leicestershire and Rutland in my other role as Assistant Race Director for the Rutland-Melton Cicle Classic, now Britain’s largest one day cycle race. It’s characterised by the numerous “special sectors” mostly run over unclassified county roads (UCR) and whilst out and about setting up over three days, I was mindful of how many other UCRs and byways there are in this area, so it looks like a Leicestershire Caper is on the cards.
This is the sort of terrain we run the race over….
