Stefan Svitko took the win on the Hungarian Baja in August, with Mario Patrao taking second place.
Riders had even harder task in deep water, but certainly they also did their best. Last year’s winner of HunGarian Baja, Stefan Svitko admitted that even if he could defend his last year’s title, he did not have an easy task at all.
‘Average speed was not fast because the track was very slippery with the mud. I had some electrical problems, I could not see my actual speed, so I had to go very carefully. Besides this small thing I had no other issues. The second section was more enjoyable, and I am happy that I could win HunGarian Baja again.’
The second placed Mario Patrao was also complaining that his bike had no grip at all.
‘Cars started before us, so we had to ride through deep grooves. I had to accept that at this race safety was first priority.’
The third placed Jan Brabec felt a bit sorry that rain had completely destroyed the track because he wanted to try himself in dry conditions.
‘I had to ride very carefully because it was easy to slip out from the grooves, but on the other side I had to push, since this was a race. And what an extremely hard race! It could serve as good preparation for Dakar.’
