The Ice Breaker Challenge Returns in 2024 with a very exciting twist!

Just as riders are dusting off their boots from the Blazing Saddles roadbook challenge of summer of 23, it’s almost time to get those heated grips on and start preparing for the next one.

The 4th edition of the Ice Breaker Challenge begins in January of 2024, and this time around, the selection of digital roadbooks available for participants to ride will be a little different from previous years.  The popular route of 2020, the Coast to Coast roadbook challenge, has been adapted and written into four separate roadbooks and will be included in the 2024 IBC.

A challenge within a challenge, if you will.

The original Ice breaker format still remains with a total of seven routes available for participants to ride.  Hit all of the waypoints on three of the routes to complete the challenge, finish all seven routes to receive an Ice Man Yeti hoodie, OR complete the C2C2C segment to win an additional award.

About the C2C2C

The original ‘Coast to Coast’ Roadbook Challenge was one of two events that we ran in 2020, both with the same format.  Together with the ‘Tour of Wales’, both events included long distance roadbook routes of about 500km, with the challenge being to complete each route within 10 hours.

For 2024 we have taken the Coast to Coast and adapted it to become the Coast to Coast to Coast, taking you from Lancaster to Scarborough, across the Yorkshire Dales and North York Moors and back again, with a break in the middle.  You can choose which direction you ride in, and in what order you do them.

The Challenge is On

Entries for the Ice Breaker Challenge open on December 1st, giving participants a month to get prepared before the routes are released on Jan 1st.  Put it in your diary folks and get ready to kick off the new year the way you intend to continue it, with lots of roadbooking!
