The Ice Breaker Challenge is only available for RallyMoto Members

A big winter challenge, 8 separate adventure roadbooks, ride in your own time – and a new “rally off” for the top ten riders from each region, with a chance to take the title of “Supreme Ice Man Yeti” and the trophy.

For this edition we are making some changes to enhance the experience; the challenge will now be split into two regions, North and South, each featuring four routes. You can choose to participate in either the northern or southern regions, aiming to complete all four routes in your selected area.

If you’re up for an even bigger challenge, you can ride all eight routes to earn the ‘Ice Man Yeti’ award.

The top riders from each region will be invited to a special ‘Rally-Off’ event on Salisbury Plain, where tough navigation will help us determine the overall champion of the ‘Supreme Ice Man Yeti Trophy.’

The Ice Breaker Challenge routes cover some of the finest riding spots in the UK, blending scenic lanes, byways, and back roads for a truly enjoyable experience. While this event is friendly for big bikes, please keep in mind that winter conditions can be unpredictable and may present challenges.

All routes are accessible via the RallyMoto Digital Roadbook app, allowing you to roadbook all winter long with ease and maximum enjoyment!

Why digital?

It’s an affordable and accessible way for more riders to enjoy roadbook adventures!
Roadbooks can be updated instantly and easily.
Riders receive ‘on-the-go’ waypoint verification- so you know you are on course.
Route verification is instantly generated and sent to ‘Rally HQ’ for verification.
Full results and live, online leaderboard.
Access to a support desk throughout the event.

THE CHALLENGE IS ON!

Complete all four routes in either the Northern or Southern region to qualify for a 2026 Ice Breaker Challenge Mission Accomplished T-Shirt.
Complete all eight routes in both regions to qualify for an Ice Man Yeti Hoodie.
An online league table will display the results of the riders throughout the event.
Results are based on penalty points accrued and number of routes completed.
Penalty points are accumulated by missing waypoints, straying off course in ‘precise navigation zones’ (see more below), and over-speeding in speed zones.

Digital roadbook routes will be around 150 – 160km of mixed terrain and available on the RallyMoto digital app:

Precise Navigation Zone

Enjoy a real navigational challenge with the ‘precise navigation zone’ aka PNZ’s. Around 90% of each route will be a PNZ, so riders will have to ensure accurate navigation as a wrong turn off the course will incur penalty points!

You will need to be super accurate to achieve a “Zero Hero” finish for the Challenge.

How does it work?

Entries will open on Friday 21 November. at 18:00
Routes will become available on Dec 1.
Sign up and enter the Challenge.
In the week before the routes are available, final instructions will be emailed to all entrants with details on how to download and install the app and load the routes.
Download the app and install on your tablet or phone (Android 8 or above plus a SIM Card)
Register your tablet / phone through the app – so we can add you to the GPS tracking and Scoring system.
Download your chosen roadbook route – you can only download one at a time.
Roadbooks will be added as soon as we have run the final route check.
BEFORE riding each route – “Register the EVENT” (an event is the route you intend to ride 24hrs before)
Start riding the route with the GPS tracking slider in the app “Turned ON”
Complete the route and turn GPS Tracking in the App “OFF”
You will incur penalties for missing waypoints, going off course in PNZ’s and for over-speeding in speed zones marked on the roadbook.
You will automatically be added to the leaderboard for each route. This will be displayed on the website and an overall results update will be done weekly.

Some frequent questions answered …

What type of bike can I use for the Ice Breaker Challenge?

On our RallyMoto Challenge events we do not restrict the type of bike you can use. Routes are graded and created to be Big Bike friendly – but you can ride any bike you want to.

Do I need my own roadbook holder?

No. All you need is a suitable phone or tablet. More info here: https://rallymoto.co.uk/digital-app-specification/

What if I breakdown?

Due to the nature of this event – you are on your own. It maybe good to ride in a small group or in pairs.

Will I need off-road tyres?

We have made suggestions as to the route and terrain. We would recommend a tyre with some off-road capability – like a dual sport tyre or a full off-road tyre.
