What a way to welcome in Spring – roadbooking on a fine sunday in the Peak District!

June 1st saw us at another swiftly sold out Adventure Rally Raid, this time in the Peaks.

The route was about 150km long and included Swan Rake and Limers Rake, two green lanes that only recently reopened after being closed for the last 8 years.  A rare victory for the off-road community that we were happy to celebrate, all the while being mindful of sharing these special trails with foot and hoof traffic in this popular area.

Not only did everyone seem to thoroughly enjoy themselves, but they also turned out some stunning results!  Keep in mind over half of the riders were roadbooking for the first time, slow and steady so they say…

Of the 30 riders who took part, 16 scored zero penalties for overspeeding or missing waypoints.

That’s 16 Zero Heroes!

The Adventure Rally Raids are becoming increasingly popular events and have been selling out fast.  We are looking at ways to be able to host more ARRs so fewer members are missing out.  Ticket entries are limited at these events to keep the traffic on the trails to a minimum.

A big thank you to Jeff, Simon, John, Allen and Rob for helping out, and to Gary RL for the pics 😉

Next up is ABR Festival in a few weeks time, come and say hi and let’s do some more roadbooking!

3 – 2 – 1 – GO!
