After several years without a roadbook training weekend in Kielder Forest, we were thrilled when Forestry England granted us access to the vast network of forestry tracks in the area for a weekend in mid-August, making it an ideal opportunity to include this event in our calendar.
Not only did we have the Forest to ride, but a new venue to test out. The KARE was based at Bo Rigg, a campsite/ cafe/ venue which has recently been taken over by new owners, who just happen to be massive petrol heads! We and the 30 riders were warmly welcomed and enjoyed the convenience of its location just a short drive from Bellingham, but most importantly, a very short commute to the forestry trails.
The event offered riders two options:
1. Join guided rides through the forestry without needing to navigate.
2. Take part in a two-day roadbook training course.
The group was split more or less 70/30. Some of our most experienced RallyMoto Ambassadors led the guided rides which gave riders the opportunity to experience the vast network of dirt tracks, the sense of real remoteness, and the stunning views across the landscape, without worrying about getting lost or confused by technology!
Burt took the lead on the training, starting with some classroom sessions then hitting the dirt for some practical learning.

Thanks to everyone who showed up for the only Kielder Adventure Riding Experience of 2026. It was a particularly solid group of riders who brought some great energy and enthusiasm to the event and made it a pleasure for us as an organisation to run.
Another big thanks to the guys at Bo Rigg who were fantastic hosts. We are super excited to be returning here again for the Dark Skies Rally in just a few weeks time!
