THe RallyMoto Roadbook App
The RallyMoto Digital Roadbook App is exclusively for RallyMoto members and is designed to be used for “Adventure Rally” events and roadbook navigation challenges organised by RallyMoto.
WHat’s included?
The app includes everything you need to take part in the events, including:
– An Accurate Trip / Odometer that is micro adjustable
– Speed indication
– Bearing / CAP in degrees
– Roadbook display area and download function.
– A GPS tracking function.
The app can be specially used for:
– Free practice roadbooks (two per month)
– Remote roadbook events, such as the Ice Breaker and Blazing Saddles Challenges
– Attended events such as Kielder 500, Wales 500 and Dark Skies Events
– Overseas Adventure Rally Challenges, such as the Estrela 2000
– Specific digital challenges, such as the Coast 2 Coast, the Longest Day and Pandemic Rally
The app can also be used for our training and practice Adventure Rally Raid events.
There is a support desk for installation, set up and registration of the app and for remote events.
WHat Do you Need to run the app?
Android Tablet/ Phone Spec:
- Any tablet or phone running Android Version 8 or above.
- You will need a device that has a SIM card facility (for registration and for GPS Tracking)
- Search for a rugged case to match your tablet. Tip: Use the model number of the tablet in your search. We stock rugged cases for Samsung Tab Active 2 here.
- A cheap Pay As You Go SIM card is fine as the app uses very little data when tracking.
- We use a ball mount system to attach to the bike simply.
- We recommend also buying a remote thumb controller so you don’t have to remove your hand from the grip to operate. We stock some here or there are many other bluetooth controllers on the market you can use.
THE APP LAYOUT
HOW TO OPERATE THE APP
The roadbook can be operated either by remote thumb controller (available here), or by using the touch screen.
Open the App and enter your details on the registration page and click ‘submit’. You’re device is now registered with RallyMoto.
Press ‘Change RB’ to load a new roadbook.
Once the roadbook has been selected you’ll be directed back to the main screen with the roadbook loaded.
Press ‘Register for the Route’ before you start riding the route.
To adjust the TRIP, press the left hand digits to adjust down, and right hand digits to adjust up.
To reset the TRIP to a specific distance, press and hold the digits to the right and enter new distance.
THE ROUTE SECTIONS
When loading a new roadbook you’ll be presented with this screen with various options available.
- SAMPLE: Just a fictitious sample roadbook so you check the app functions correctly and your controller works with a roadbook.
- EVENTS: Free access to the app for RallyMoto events. Passwords for roadbooks will be available at sign on for these events. E.g. Kielder 500, Dark Skies, ARR’s and Tour of Portugal.
- RIDES: 2 practice routes per month made available to subscribers of the app. Access to 24 routes per annum.
- CHALLENGES: Access to remote challenges, such as Ice Breaker, Blazing Saddles, Cannonball Cafe Challenge, Coast 2 Coast and Tour of Wales – an additional fee applies per Challenge in addition to the subscription, this replaces the normal entry fee.
PRIVATE / TEST AREA IN APP
- TEAM: A private area for the route testing team when checking or setting up new routes.
