Led by the infamous Patsy Quick, Desert Rose Racing is one of the leading british rally support businesses in the UK. Offering rally support, bike preparation, roadbooking bootcamps and off-road rider training, they’re the one stop shop for all things rally!
They’ve also had a long history with RallyMoto, with Joe Mercer’s very first event being the Tour of Portugal in 2016! The team will be hosting a talk on the transition to international rally events, and will be present to answer any questions throughout the event.

MEDICAL PLANNING FOR REMOTE RIDERS
To fully enjoy adventure riding and rallying to its full potential, preparation is key. Damian Rawcliffe, our very own extreme sports rally medic, joins us to not only provide a medical response team for us all out on the trails, but to host a workshop on ‘Medical Planning for Remote Riders’.
Damo is not only a skilled associate ambulance practitioner, but is also keen adventure rider, a lively and lovable personality and a wonderful asset to team RallyMoto.

FAQs
Do I need my own roadbook holder?
If you are using a digital roadbook all you need is a suitable phone or tablet. More info here: https://rallymoto.co.uk/digital-app-specification/
If you plan to use a paper roadbook then you either need your own roadbook holder, or you can use one of our ‘tupperware’ style hire units. https://rallymoto.co.uk/hire-roadbook-holder-set-up/
Can I hire a tablet for the event?
We’ve now decided to offer our limited supply of digital hire units for the event. This will be an option to select when booking your entry.
What type of bike can I use for THE BIG ONE?
Unlike our Adventure Rally events which have classes for different sized bikes, THE BIG ONE is for adventure style bikes only. Lightweight Adv Bikes such as CRF250Ls are fine, but this isn’t the event for small enduros.
What if I breakdown?
There will be marshalls and ambassadors on course to assist, as well as recovery vehicles and medics on standby in case of more serious accidents. Your location can be verified with the tracker built into the app which organisers will be monitoring from HQ.
Will I need off-road tyres?
For those who choose to ride the off-road routes we would recommend a tyre with some off-road capability – like a dual sport tyre or a full off-road tyre. If it rains then the fire tracks can become muddy and slippery so best to be prepared.
Can I come to the event and not ride?
Absolutely! The bivouac at Kielder Castle will be open for anyone who wants to come along. Within the bivouac will be food and drink vendors, stalls hosted by rally and adventure bike industry professionals and suppliers, workshops, talks, and evening entertainment.
Can I ride in the forest without using roadbook navigation?
Yes, if you’d just like to experience riding in Kielder Forest there will be daily guided rides for you to join. To join a guided ride, add this as an option on your entry form.
