Another first from RallyMoto and the Team – A Marathon Adventure Cannonball.

We have created two special big bike “Adventure Bike” routes through the heart of Wales taking in breath taking scenery, lakes, reservoirs, back lanes and little used roads.

The course length will be approximately 500km and riders will need to finish within 12 hours to have completed the challenge. Fuel range is 110km (60 miles)

The course has been designed for “BIG BIKES” – which should ideally be 600cc plus motorcycles.

The Challenge and Safety

All riders taking part in the “Challenge” will be tracked using RallyMoto’s new precision GPS tracking system, firstly for safety and to confirm the route taken and the time for the challenge.
You will need to fit a GPS Tracker power lead to your bike so we can use the new RallyMoto Tracking System. We will supply the power lead to you – this is then yours to fit and keep for any future RallyMoto events that may use our tracking system. THE GPS unit needs a 12V power supply and a USB power connection is NOT suitable.

We are now offering two offroad routes.

  1. Challenge Route, suitable for novices and intermediate adventure riders.
    You will need to have:
    – dual sport orientated tyres
    – to be self sufficient
    – to fit a power lead for the GPS  tracker unit
    – to be able to ride for 12 hours plus

  2. Expert Challenge Route.
    You will need to:
    – have off road riding skills
    – have off road orientated tyres
    – be self sufficient
    – to fit a power lead for the GPS  tracker unit
    – to be able to ride for 12 hours plus

Please select the correct route for you riding skills and ability.

Limited entries per event

There will be a maximum of 30 riders so we can manage the sign up, start and stopping places along the route in a COVID friendly way with little impact on the local communities.

The route will be the same for each date – therefore we request that all roadbooks are handed in at the end of the challenge.

Some frequent questions answered …

What type of bike should I use for the Tour of Wales?

This event is really designed for “Big” adventure bikes that are over 600cc and able to do the mileage comfortably.

Do I need my own roadbook holder?

No. RallyMoto can supply a “hire” roadbook holder as part of the entry fee. If you have your own roadbook holder that’s great.

What happens if I just want to ride the route?

You can just ride the route but you will not be part of the “Challenge”. There will be a time limit on you finish time though.

What if I breakdown?

There will be a support team on the course. If you breakdown or have a puncture we will try and get you to the end point in Abergavenny.

What if I get lost on the roadbook?

There will be some key checkpoints where you will be able to ride to easily and pick up the next section of the roadbook. So you should be OK, plus there will be other riders en route to help you.

Can I ride with my mates?

Yes, the Tour of Wales can be a solo or a team effort with participants riding together.
