About the Cannonball Cafe Challenge
Dates: 18th April to 30th September 2025
ENTRY: All 24 routes
Prizes and awards are available for both Northern and Southern regions.
The Routes
Each route starts and ends at a different cafe and is around 100-120km in length, with a return roadbook to get you back to the start location along a whole new route! So it is a great round trip.
All routes are 100% tarmac roads.
All roadbooks are available on the digital app which can run on an Android device – version 8 or above (tablet is recommended).
There are 24 available routes in total, with 12 routes in the North and 12 routes in the South.
All roadbooks are graded as EASY to comprehend. Routes are scenic and “off the beaten” road – a real adventure 😉
The Challenge
Each roadbook will have multiple ‘hidden waypoints’ along the route which will be verified automatically when you ride through them. You simply need to follow the course correctly to hit all the waypoints!
Missed waypoints = penalty points!
There will also be speed zones along the route which need to be adhered to. The tracking system within the app will alert you if you overspeed in speed zones.
Overspeeding = penalty points!
Earn zero penalty points to become a ‘Zero Hero’
Score “ZERO” penalty points on at least 12 routes and win a ZERO HERO 2025 T-Shirt – the challenge is ON
Remember: You must be either a ‘Tarmac Only’ or Full RallyMoto member to enter this event.

- Completing all the routes correctly earns you the ‘Cannonball Cafe Racer’ Hoodie.
How does it work?
- Sign up and enter the Challenge. Complete the entry form and payment.
- We will then send you a link to download and install the digital roadbook – we may need to stagger this if demand is high.
- Download the app and install on your tablet or phone (Android 8 or above plus a SIM Card)
- Register your tablet / phone through the app – so we can add you to the GPS tracking system.
- Download your chosen roadbook route – you can only download one at a time.
- Roadbooks will be added as soon as we have run the final route check.
- BEFORE riding each route – “Register the EVENT” (an event is the route you intend to ride 24hrs before)
- Start riding the route with the GPS tracking slider in the app “Turned ON”
- Complete the route and turn GPS Tracking in the App “OFF”
- You will incur penalties for navigation errors and for overspeed in speed zones marked on the roadbook.
- We will then add you to the leaderboard on the website and update results as soon we can for each route.

What type of bike can I use for the Cannonball Cafe Challenge?
On our RallyMoto Challenge events we do not restrict the type of bike you can use. Routes are graded and created to be Big Bike friendly – but you can ride any bike you want to.
Do I need my own roadbook holder?
No. All you need is a suitable phone or tablet. More info here: https://rallymoto.co.uk/digital-app-specification/
What if I breakdown?
Due to the nature of this event – you are on your own. It maybe good to ride in a small group or in pairs.
Will I need off-road tyres?
No, this challenge is 100% tarmac.
Can I ride with my mates?
Yes, the Cannonball Cafe Challenge can be a solo or a group effort with participants riding together.
